Activity Spotlight: 4-H
4-H camps offer a flexible, nationwide network of summer programs that combine traditional camp fun with hands-on learning and youth development. Available as both day and overnight camps, these programs are typically run through local county or university extension offices, meaning offerings can vary by location, but all share a common focus on helping kids build confidence, independence, and real-world skills. Importantly for parents, kids do not need to be existing 4-H members to attend, making these camps widely accessible.
A typical 4-H camp experience blends classic outdoor activities with educational exploration. Campers might rotate through swimming, canoeing, hiking, archery, ropes courses, crafts, and team sports, alongside nature-based learning and science or agriculture-focused activities. Many programs also incorporate camp traditions like songs, skits, and campfires, while grouping kids by age to ensure a supportive, peer-based environment. The overall structure is designed to keep kids active, social, and trying new things throughout the day.
Area: Nationwide (15 U.S. states!)
Price: 4-H camp pricing is generally much more affordable than traditional private camps, but it varies by state, format, and level of subsidy. A typical overnight camp costs about $300–$600 per week, with many commonly clustering around $350–$400 for a 5-day session. For day camps, pricing is usually lower, often falling in the $200–$300 per week range.
Dates: Varies by location (generally June - August). Find your closest location here.
Registration: Programs can be registered for online. Find your closest location's website here.

What We’re Working On
As if camps and summer schedules weren’t keeping us busy enough, Jenn and the team have also been quietly working on an exciting new product for families behind the scenes. We’re not quite ready to share all the details yet, but we can say it’s inspired by one very real parenting problem: kids’ unbelievably stinky feet.
We’ve been deep in research and development, and over the coming months, we’ll start sharing more tips, tricks, and sneak peeks as things come together. When launch time comes, we’ll definitely be calling on the MomBrains community for honest feedback on how it’s improving your lives, and maybe even saving a few laundry rooms along the way!
Over and out,
Your Team at MomBrains
