Activity Spotlight: Camp Foley
Camp Foley is a long-running overnight summer camp located on the Whitefish Chain, offering traditional camp experiences for kids entering grades 2–11. Known for its classic “up north” camp atmosphere, Foley combines outdoor adventure, waterfront activities, and strong community-building traditions in a setting designed to help kids gain independence, confidence, and social connection away from screens and school-year pressures.
One of the camp’s biggest draws for families is the sheer breadth of activities available. Campers can participate in waterskiing, sailing, horseback riding, climbing, arts and crafts, archery, canoeing, drama, mountain biking, and team sports, with programming designed to let kids try new things while still developing skills over multiple summers. The camp also places a major emphasis on leadership development as campers get older, with progressive experiences that encourage responsibility, teamwork, and mentorship within the camp community.

What We’re Working On
Behind the scenes, we’ve also been working on a new interview series that we’re really excited about—one that takes parents directly inside some of NYC’s most talked-about camps! Over the coming weeks, we’re sitting down with camp directors, counselors, and program leaders to get honest insights into what camp life actually looks like day-to-day, what makes certain programs stand out, and what families should really know before registering. If you’ve ever wanted a personal tour of camp facilities before committing, we are your boots on the ground!
