How We’re Feeling This Week: HOT! 🥵🔥
New England summers have always been hot and humid, but this past week’s nationwide heat dome really took it to the next level. It was HOT!
That didn’t stop the summer camps from staying in session. Our poor little one looked like she was roasted coming out of her golf camp with cheeks flushed red and her skin a couple of shades darker. This pregnant mama didn’t do much better with all the extra blood flow that comes from growing a baby. Talk about feeling faint. 😵💫
As easy as it is to turn grumpy and sluggish in such hot weather, somehow we found the energy to stay upbeat with the heat. I attribute a lot of that to my kid’s positive attitude this week and some creativity. Here are our mini-hacks that both cheered us up and cooled us down this week when the AC didn’t quite cut it:
Carrying a cooler with snacks around all week in the car 🧊🧺
Eating a few extra popsicles / ice cream treat 🍦 and watermelon slices 🍉
Sleeping with ice packs 🧊🧊🧊
Water balloon fight! (Our favorite) 🎈💦
The hot week turned out to be a fun one. Here’s to hoping the rest of the summer will cool off for everyone!
