In recent years, many families have been looking beyond traditional daycare centers and embracing home daycares – intimate, home-based childcare settings also known as family child care homes.
What We’re Reading This Week 📖
The real problem with kids’ diets today: Vox addresses growing concern over children’s diets and weight-focused culture. It urges parents to focus on positive relationships with food rather than rigid health dogma. Empowerment and autonomy, versus perfection, are emphasized as keys to long-term well-being for your kids.
Attached (The New Science of Adult Attachment): This book I’ve been reading recently while traveling, explores how adult romantic relationships are deeply influenced by attachment theory, a psychological framework originally developed for understanding bonds between infants and caregivers. The authors explain how recognizing your own attachment style—and that of your partner—can dramatically improve relationship satisfaction. Beyond solidifying your relationship with your fellow parent, this deep dive helps relationships with your kids, as well.
How We’re Feeling This Week:🤪
Slightly unhinged, in the best way! After some long European travels that included Poland (so quaint) and London (so busy), and returning on Labor Day weekend after an already intensive August schedule, I feel like I don’t know which way is up. What is work? What is routine? Have I really done these tasks before? And the ironic kicker is the guilt I feel for no longer being overly scheduled and running around like a chicken with my head cut off 🫠. With that being said, I’m trying to take these moments to slow down and appreciate time, while getting back into a more reasonably paced routine as we enter fall. After all, this season is about transformation and shedding any of these unhinged feelings that aren’t serving me! But I look back at these past few weeks of adventure with a fond smile:

Cheers,
